BodyCustom Premier is one of the only true custom micronutrient supplements on the market. Every formula is individualized to the micronutrient needs of each person. Premier (as well as the individual micronutrients) is made within a pharmacy 'clean-room', and adheres to quality standards applied to a pharmaceutical product, superseding the typical, less-stringent requirements for supplements and nutritional products.
BodyCustom Elite was developed after years of research on professional athletes. The micronutrient data obtained from this athlete population served as the benchmark for the Elite formula. This product (as well as BodyCustom Protein and VW3) is produced by an NSF certified manufacturer. There is no other product on the market known to have been developed from micronutrient data collected from professional athletes.
BodyCustom Elite is a more cost effective alternative to our custom product. BodyCustom Premier is a sophisticated blend of micronutrients designed specifically for an individual and based upon their own micronutrient deficiencies.
Each person's response to supplementation is unique to the needs of the individual. In most cases, a well-conditioned individual will not typically 'feel' any different. However, repletion under these circumstances should be considered preventative. It is not unusual for some people to appreciate a therapeutic benefit after repleting a micronutrient deficiency, especially persons with cumulative medical problems and older individuals.
Nutrition is dynamic. There are numerous variables potentially impacting your micronutrient status: diet, exercise, chronic medical conditions, medications, stress, among others. In many instances, it is difficult, even impossible, to determine the cause of or predict a deficiency. Other times, a specific cause-and-effect can be identified and targeted.
You do not have to have a blood analysis done to take the standard Body custom product (Elite). It is necessary to obtain a micronutrient analysis prior to ordering your initial custom product (Premier). You do not necessarily have to have subsequent blood analyses drawn prior to reordering (i.e. renewing) a custom product, although this is recommended periodically.
It is reasonable to have this test done at 4-12 month intervals. More frequent monitoring might be indicated if significant lifestyle or dietary modifications have occurred, new medical diagnoses, medication changes, or screening.
Micronutrients are nutrients required in small amounts that contribute to a wide range of physiologic functions. Micronutrients include: vitamins, minerals, trace elements, fatty acids, metabolites, and antioxidants.
Micronutrient deficiencies should be repleted in order to optimize an individual's nutritional status. Repletion may directly impact a clinically relevant medical condition or corresponding symptoms. More commonly, repletion could be considered a preventative measure to reduce the risk of future problems.
This reflects an optimal micronutrient status, representing an individual's micronutrient status over the approximate four months preceding the blood draw. This generally means that there is a sufficient balance between micronutrient intake and metabolic demands during this period of time.
Persons with no micronutrient deficiencies may choose not to make any immediate changes in diet, lifestyle, exercise, or supplement regimen, unless indicated. Persons with only a few micronutrient deficiencies might choose to modify their diet, purchase the individual BodyCustom micronutrients, or consider BodyCustom Elite.
Yes. It is important to disclose any supplements you are taking with your physician. There is a potential for side effects, drug interactions, or toxicity, albeit rare. Most side effects are mild and tolerable, e.g. flushing caused by vitamin B3. Although not required to take an over-the-counter supplement, we suggest that you invite your physician participate in the decision to start or alter your supplement dosage or dosing schedule.
Any person with contraindications or known adverse reaction, hypersensitivity, or allergy to any of the product ingredients should not take that particular product, and should discuss other options with their physician. The vast majority of persons tolerate supplementation without any difficulty.
Ideally, micronutrients are repleted (i.e. replaced) through your diet. Alternatively, and often more convieniently, micronutrients may be repleted through supplementation.
BodyCustom products are measured for once daily dosing. It is important to realize that more is not necessarily better and, in fact, could be dangerous. While most of our ingredients are renally excreted and are in concentrations far below the upper tolerable limits, excessive intake could result in side effects, drug interactions, or toxicity.
